• Where do I claim compensation?

  If your accident was in the UK:

  Being based in London, we are always able to bring a personal injury claim in this country for accidents that happened in England & Wales, and we may be able to do so for accidents in Scotland and Northern Ireland. We can act for:

  • people from overseas who have been injured while visiting and travelling in the UK; if you are a French or Spanish speaker, we will provide our advice and correspond with you in your own language;
  • British residents who have been injured in this country by foreigners, such as foreign drivers. Our language skills and strong international network mean that we are best placed to make the relevant investigations to identify the liable party and their insurer.

   

  If your accident was in France:

  We employ bilingual and dual qualified lawyers and have particularly strong links with France. If your accident happened in France, there will often be a choice of whether to bring the claim in England or in France; we will advise you about the best option for you depending on the circumstances of your case.

   

   

  If your accident was in another country:

  In some circumstances, your claim can be pursued in England & Wales, even if you were injured while travelling abroad. If this is not possible, we can still handle your compensation claim following an accident anywhere in Europe and beyond, with the assistance of our established network of specialist international injury lawyers.

  Pursuing a claim in another country can be worrying. Be reassured that, if your claim proceeds in France, Spain, or any other country, we will always provide clear advice to you and explain the subtleties of the process in an intelligible way and in your own language.

• Would I need to pay legal fees?

  We will explain your funding options at the outset of your accident claim.

  For accident claims brought in the UK we are usually able to offer a conditional fee agreement if you have a good case. This means you do not have to pay anything up front and your claim will not cost you anything if you lose. This is sometimes known as a ‘no win, no fee’ arrangement.

  For accident claims that are made abroad we will review the available options for funding your legal fees and discuss what is likely to best suit your requirements.

• How much compensation can I expect to recover?

  For accident claims made in the UK compensation is awarded for the injury itself and for your financial losses.

   

  Once liability for the accident has been established, we will obtain a medical report from an independent doctor describing the nature of your injuries and how they affect you. This will allow us to accurately value the injury claim.

   

  You can also claim reasonable financial losses and expenses resulting from your injuries, including loss of earnings, rehabilitation costs, modifications to your home and other losses, such as compensation for the loss of enjoyment of a holiday.

   

  Other countries operate different compensation systems and we will assess the amount of compensation you are entitled to receive for your accident once we have details of your claim and have identified the legal jurisdiction that will deal with it.
