Virginie is a bilingual solicitor, qualified in England and Wales with extensive knowledge of French personal injury law.

She specialises in personal injury and insurance claims, including group claims, catastrophic injuries, fatal claims and complex cases involving jurisdictional issues.

Virginie has experience of matters involving the laws of England and Wales, France, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania and Greece.

For claimants

  • Currently acting for a French person who was hit by a car while crossing the road in the UK and sustained a serious brain injury such that he cannot resume work as an artist; arranging his rehabilitation in accordance with the Serious Injury Guide and secured an interim payment of £17,500.
  • Obtained compensation for two British travellers injured in a road traffic accident in Poland where one of the two claimants developed severe psychological symptoms.
  • Achieved £100k compensation after applying the principles of French law on behalf of a French holidaymaker who suffered a serious leg injury in a collision with a British skier in the French Alps.
  • Obtained compensation from a reluctant tour operator who consistently denied liability after a British holidaymaker suffered an ankle injury while on holiday in Turkey (£10,000 settlement).
  • Sought redress under the Criminal Injuries Compensation scheme after a Frenchman was assaulted while in the UK. Successfully appealed a refusal from the CICA and obtained compensation for dental injuries suffered.

For insurers

  • Instructed by a French legal expenses insurer to pursue a claim for their insured, a French food producer, in a contract dispute with a UK supermarket over product quality and unpaid invoices. Successfully secured a settlement of £85,000.
  • Currently defending a claim involving a British claimant in a fatal collision in France. The claimant was left with life changing injuries.
